Yes, we are still here!

Sorry that it has been so long between posts! It has been a very busy time!  Our performance at the Pinellas Folk Festival in beautiful Heritage Village was so much fun! We performed our sets of both Celtic and American Folk songs (but we have to admit we love the Celtic music best!)  We also got the opportunity to again perform with Keyestone, and had a great time belting out folk and gospel for about four hours.  The first time we wound up playing a five hour set at the festival, we were a little shell-shocked (it was supposed to be four half hour sets with breaks in between!) but since it has happened every year since (still unplanned!), we have come to look forward to and enjoy it! After all, there is no such animal as too much music, eh???

Currently, Nightingale is working on new music, and are in the beginning stages of planning to record a CD. We are hoping to utilize traditional and original music, with a Celtic flavor! Also, we are planning to record as part of Keyestone, who will  also be making their debut CD in the coming  months.  We are currently looking for new venues locally, and will be singing in September as part of a permormance sponsored by Morton Plant-Mease Hospital. The performance will be held in the theatre at the Palm Harbor University High school. We attended last years show, and it was a great deal of fun! We look forward to performing there this year. We will post specific dates when we have more information!

Both Nightigale and Keyestone are hard at work preparing for the 2008 Pinellas Folk Festival, which is happening at  beautiful Heritage Village in Largo on January 26th.  Both groups will be performing in  the  old Safety Harbor church - we look forward to seeing you there!

Nightingale is currently working on sets of both Celtic and American folk music, and are looking forward to  performing new material, including some original songs.

Tonight Nightingale (as well as Keyestone) met to discuss music and plans for the 2008 Pinellas Folk Festival at beautiful Heritage Village in Largo.  We will be anchoring the stage at the old Safety Harbor church for the third year in a row, and we are really excited!  Not only will Nightingale and Keyestone be performing, but Sorrows Away is planning  to perform also (after a year and a half hiatus).  It will be a fun day of music, encompassing Gospel,  Celtic, traditional American and  original music, and we can't wait! (Even though singing with all three groups will leave Ruth very tired! She just hates to miss out....!)  We will post more information (times and dates etc) as soon as we receive it. Hope to see you there!
