Louisiana Moon

(Wild Zydeco)       (copyright R. Keyes 2008)

Gotta get there soon,

Lousiana moon,

with the wild Cajun beat,

got a Creole soul

calls for Zydeco,

don't dance to the fiddle

if you can't take the heat!

Down on the bayou

the smoke's a rising,

the music's calling,

come ease your soul -

if you take your chance,

you got to dance

to the wild Zydeco.

We'll dance all night

in the firelight,

'Cadia's Sons

and wild Daughters,

'till we lay us low

with the Zydeco

in smoky Southern waters.

It  might be a curse,

but there's something worse,

could make a soul

from heaven fall,

even Louisian'

can't save a man,

if he can't hear the music call.

Gotta get there soon,

Lousiana moon,

with the wild Cajun beat,

got a Creole soul

calls for Zydeco,

don't dance to the fiddle

if you can't take the heat!
